Schmitter Betschdorf Salt glaze cobalt blue creamer with lid.In excellent condition with handle, original lid with cut out for spoon, and signature on base. Bought in France a number of year ago. Early rare piece from the Schmitter pottery in the village of Betschdorf. A 7 generation family business producing Alsatian salt stoneware since 1844. The firing process gives all its authenticity with the salt vitrification making the pieces waterproof and unalterable. A perfect Christmas present
